Hawaii Day Four — Koloa Old Town

Old Koloa Town

Today is overcast and rainy, thanks to the remnants of the tropical storm, so we did a little shopping and exploring. Koloa used to be a sugar plantation town, and there is a “preserved” Old Town, “preserved” meaning that it’s a strip of shops for tourists with some historical info here and there. It was a good idea for a rainy day, and a good opportunity for me to get the obligatory flower photos.

Today is my mom’s birthday, so we’re treating my parents to dinner. The clouds are just starting to break and I’ll be hitting the beach in a while. I tried to watch the perseids last night but it was too overcast; hopefully tonight will be better.
