We were ambushed by beautiful weather Sunday, a kind of grand finale after a historically wet summer, so five of us decided to enjoy it at Lake George. S likes to have a final drink at the Sagamore, a disgustingly swank hotel in Bolton Landing, and while we were walking the grounds we noticed a lake cruise was leaving soon. Every good thing in life happens spontaneously, so we hopped on and enjoyed an hour and a half of drinks on the lake, literally. It was absolutely perfect, the sun popped in and out from behind clouds, the breeze was strong, and so were the drinks. And I couldn’t ask for better company.
After, we stopped for a quick bite, a final summer cocktail, and then drove back to Albany blasting summertime music. As much as I hated every rainy weekend this year, this one day just about made up for it.
